Bail Process

When someone is arrested they will be taken to a local police or Sheriff’s station to be booked and processed and their bail will be set according to the San Francisco County bail schedule.

If you want the assistance of a bondsman, you will be charged a fee equal to 10% of the defendant’s bail amount in order to have a bond posted.  You should keep in mind that this money is non-refundable and is paid to the bondsman for their services.

A second option would be taking the full amount of the defendant’s bail to the jail in the form of cash or a cashier’s check.  This money will be refunded, less administrative fees, to the person who posted once the case is concluded. However, criminal cases can take months or years to complete.

No Collateral Options

Many of the people we work with have a lot of misconceptions about the bail industry and many people think they’ll need to post some sort of collateral in order to purchase a bail bond.   That isn’t true with Adelante Bail Bonds.  Most of our clients are pleased to learn they are eligible for no collateral bail bonds.

In fact, most of the bonds we write are called signature bonds. With this type of bond the signature of the person who signs the paperwork is assurance enough that the defendant will return to court when required.
